a friend of mine, charlie visnic is also doing a 365 project right now of drawings that he does daily. a little while back we got to meet in person for the first time after being “online friends” for about three years (he was a regular, and outstanding contributor to my mm-cc project when i was actively maintaining that). it was awesome to see the internet work to build actual community, or at least friendship. when we met up, we got coffee together and at one point i went to the restroom… midway through my pee i realized i wasn’t concerned at all about the fact that i left my camera on the table with a man i had technically just met 30 minutes before. it was clear that a true friendship, and trust had been built purely over the internet. anway… i digress – after we met up that night charlie went into the city to work on his drawing and decided to draw the bay bridge. a few days later he drew something from this blog for his daily post. since then i have been looking for a chance to return the gesture and photograph something he drew. it hadn’t ocurred to me to use the bay bridge post of his for this until this morning while muni was just passing the bridge – i looked up from my note pad to see this gorgeous, thick fog over the bay – so i jumped off the train at the next stop and shot these.
i highly suggest taking a look through charlie’s archive from his previous 365 project as well – wonderful stuff and always such detailed writings to go along with his posts: here
